Who We Are
The local midwestern source for glazed, liquid flat-plate solar collectors.

A sustainably-operated supplier committed to helping our customers conserve valuable resources - both financial and environmental - by making solar thermal energy more available and affordable.

A family-owned and operated business located in rural, west-central Wisconsin - just 60 miles from St. Paul, Minnesota. Bubbling Springs Solar makes solar thermal panels locally, which makes our products more affordable.

Our collectors have been tested and certified by the Solar Rating and Certification Corporation (SRCC).
Our Mission
To maximize the use of solar technologies in our region by providing a local, reliable source for high quality products, information and services to people and businesses interested in reducing their impact on the environment.
Why Solar Thermal Heating?
Solar thermal heating systems convert the sun's energy to heat. Thermal panels are a good buy because they deliver excellent energy value.

The average American uses 10-15,000 BTUs (British Thermal Units) per day for domestic hot water. Independant tests show that one 4' by 8' flat plate collector can collect 30,000 BTUs per panel per sunny day. On a mildly cloudy day with one collector you can expect to gain 20,000 BTUs. On a cloudy day one panel brings water temperatures up by adding 10,000BTUs. You can see our test results under "Bubbling Springs Solar" at www.solar-rating.org.

Solar-heated fluid can provide the heat to domestic hot water or to radiators or radiant heat systems for offices, homes, kennels, garages, outbuildings, shop spaces, pools, hot tubs, greenhouses, or any other place that needs heat.

The costs for heat and hot water represent a large portion of monthly utility bills for both homes and businesses. A properly sized solar thermal system for domestic hot water will lower water heat bills by 75% or more; which makes it a great choice to lower your overall carbon dioxide output. Why not let the sun do the heating?

Today's solar thermal heating systems are very reliable and effective in all climates - even those with our frozen winter temps. Unlike earlier generations of solar heating systems, newer systems are simple to operate and easy to maintain year round.

Any site with a relatively unobstructed view of the Southern sky is an appropriate location for a modern solar thermal system. Good wind and hydro sites are much harder to find.

Advantages of Choosing a Bubbling Springs Solar Panel
All materials have been evaluated and chosen for their performance, life expectancy, and their enviromental impact from production to disposal.
For instance, we choose to use fiberglass insulation because it is fire-proof, inert, does not break down or rot, and has a smaller enviromental footprint than foam insulators.
We took a good look at options for our absorber plate and we chose to go with a high-performance combination tubing with more aluminum and less copper. Benefits include these facts:
Aluminum makes the absorber plate lighter, copper is more market-sensitive and thus more expensive metal, and aluminum is highly recyclable.
Our location in Western Wisconsin makes damage free delivery of panels to the upper midwest easier. For many customers our location saves time and fuel for delivery.
Customer service is close at hand, you can call us and talk to the people that actually make the product
